Not too sure about the knockout qually but the cars are fast and sound fantastic. 4.2 litre V12s mrgreen mrgreen
Reversing the whole grid for the second race is fun.

Well worth £15 for a weekend ticket on the GP circuit at Silverstone Cool

oh....and my team won Twisted Evil

Do they pass on track?

How fast do they lap compared to F1?

Fastest Laps of the two races were:

I: Alvaro Parente 1.33,982
II: Sebastien Bourdais 1.32,818

BUT: Were they still running the old GP layout or already the new one?

Old GP circuit, the new one has it's first meeting in May (FIA GTs).

Plenty of overtaking as they have basic aero packages. Times are 12 seconds off of Vettel's fastest lap last year and so HRT would probably beat a SL car over one lap although I suspect a SL would win in a 60 lap race.

Update on van der Drift

Kart fundraiser for van der Drift

By Peter Mills Friday, August 27th 2010, 11:46 GMT

A fundraising event to assist Superleague Formula race winner Chris van der Drift with the medical bills from his horrific, 210G, Brands Hatch crash has been organised at Daytona Milton Keynes on 7th September.

Van der Drift sustained a broken ankle in two places, two broken ribs, a cracked shoulder blade, a dislocated shoulder and two broken fingers in the terrifying accident four weeks ago.

"Because I have been left in this situation, I am now in the middle of organisng a two-hour enduro kart race and auction to help with the medical costs," said van der Drift. "There are heaps of people who have been so helpful, especially Mark Webber's trainer Roger Cleary.

"Roger has organised, through the Altitude Centre, for me to have a Hypoxic chamber installed in my home. It is something used by climbers to simulate thin air on top of mountains, but also helps the body heal. I am also going to a low temperature chamber, similar to one Mark used after breaking his leg [in a mountain bike crash in 2008].

"This week I have been waiting for a cast off to come off, so I have been sitting around the house watching TV a lot, but I am not in too much pain. Many people have been wishing me well. I think I have had even more coverage back home because of the accident than when I have won races."

Several GP2 and Formula 1 teams have pledged their support. Lotus F1 third driver Fairuz Fauzy, 2009 British Formula 3 champion Daniel Ricciardo and van der Drift's fellow Kiwi, former Red Bull Junior ace, Brendon Hartley have confirmed their participation in the kart race.
