babel translation:

Jacques Villeneuve rolled in Lotus Thursday afternoon! The Québécois pilot, who envisaged to spend the next weeks at his place, rather put the course on England in order to go to visit the installations of Lotus Cars.

Villeneuve discussed with the staff the company and it even made some turns of wheels on the legendary circuit of Hethel with a Lotus Evora, new spearhead of the English mark in the market of the sports cars.

“I cannot reveal the contents of our conversations, but I liked my visit much, said Villeneuve, joined in England. It was necessary to come here for carrying out well the extent of the tradition which surrounds Lotus. The owners have beautiful being Malaysian, they understood that the best way of doing thrive Lotus was well to anchor itself in the legend.”

“It is always special to see craftsmen manufacturing each car to the hand. One feels the same one will have as at Ferrari. It is important for Lotus and F-1 that the mark returns in the sport.”

Villeneuve wanted to keep the secret visit but Norwich Evening News, a local newspaper, gave a report on the dinner of Villeneuve to Bird in the Hand, a pub of Wreningham, with a few kilometers of the factories where the cars were developed which allowed Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jochen Rindt and Mario Andretti to gain their championships of the world.

Moreover, for Jacques Villeneuve, it was almost a “dream of p' tit guy” which it carried out by visiting Lotus.

“Few people know that my first hero in F-1 was not Gilles but well Emerson Fittipaldi, Villeneuve entrusts. The first small-scale model of F-1 with which I played was a Lotus Type72D de Fittipaldi with the colors of John Players Special! I already spoke about it with Emerson, but there, that made me a whole feeling be on the spot where as many cars of exception was built. ”

As one could expect it while reading, in Norwich Evening News, that Villeneuve was with another Canadian, it is the Resident of Laval Gino Rosato, vice-president with the corporative businesses of Group Lotus Inc., which was used as guide with its compatriot.

“Gino even found the means of putting to me at the wheel of Evora, the new model of Lotus. I really was pleased to lead it. The cars of Lotus are really small cars of race which can be used on the road. It is good sign… They have the air still able to build cars of race!”

Let us recall that Lotus F1 TEAM obtained from Group Lotus a license to bring back the legendary name on the grid of F-1. Under the orders of the executive director Tony Fernandes and the chief technical officer Mike Gascoyne, the team holds one of the 13 places of manufacturers granted by TRUSTED for the season 2010. Gascoyne gave a report on conversations besides that it had with Villeneuve in connection with the next season of F-1.

Awesome, thanks for posting that dantech. Very Happy

So he had lunch with Gino, the lady from Lotus and an American. I wonder who that was. They would have had to have lunch delivered in to keep it secret. Laughing Sounds like he liked his visit.

Oh, I missed your question, Zag. Embarassed

I've only heard the first song that came out, "Accepterais-tu", but it was in French so I couldn't follow it. It was a good song though, but I still haven't heard any of the other ones.

Villeneuve has not lost hope
Sports - Motor Sport
Written by Dominic Fugere
Mercredi, 06 janvier 2010 23:23

With the new year RueFrontenac.com prepares a series of articles on what to expect of Quebecers in motorsports in 2010. For this first day, we focus on series cars.

THE question among sports car enthusiasts from us, is: "Jacques Villeneuve will he win his bet back in F1?"

Obviously, the main person does not give up, but time is short. After the hopes at Lotus, the seats are filled and the world champion in 1997 still has no job for the new year.

"I work on two issues that deepened rapidly", says Villeneuve, reached by telephone. "It is clear that time is running out, but I do not despair. Things are still moving very fast and there are still a few seats."

Of these, the seat next to Robert Kubica at Renault is still free. With Gerard Lopez and Eric Boullier who now own and run the team Renault F1, reconciliations with Villeneuve were quickly approached. Villeneuve is a friend of the two men and drove for their team at 24 hours of Spa last summer.

Knowing the patterns of Renault, Villeneuve admits that the lines of communication are simple to prepare, but he said that their friendship is not guaranteeing anything.

"Sure we talk often, as we talked often before they took their places at Renault", said Villeneuve. "However, the friendship has little to do with the selection of drivers and rightly so. I do not want a drive because I know the boss. I want to be assigned because the officers and crew are also convinced by me that we will all go faster. This is the only way to develop a successful team."

Philosophy shared by Boullier

"We want an experienced driver, who can push Robert Kubica and bring points," said Boullier. "Whether we pariions on experience, wondering whether to repair Kubica Heidfeld, whether we do differently. We will decide soon ..."

Never mind, Villeneuve believes that the movement of the off-season will continue even after the start lights will be turned off for the first time on the starting grid of the Bahrain circuit.

"Everyone I spoke to told me that the beginning of the season does not mean the end of transfers and I tend to agree," said Villeneuve. "This is the beginning of a new era for the F1 and things are very, very different from the past in the business side of sport. I am convinced that drivers who start the season will not be those who finish. Lack of experience will catch up with some. Even if I do not drive in Bahrain, I will continue my maneuvers."

Moreover, the Quebecers think the biggest appointment of winter - that of Michael Schumacher Mercedes GP - can only help.

"If Michael makes a successful return - and I am convinced he will - it will be good for me. The teams believe that many new cars are very well suited to experienced drivers, but they are not convinced. Soon after Michaels return, people should think of me, especially when taking into account my past encounters with him."

Also in the series of cars, but on this side of the Atlantic, Alex Tagliani said they have the budget and team to make the entire season in 2010.

Dennis backs Villeneuve's F1 bid

McLaren group chairman and former team principal Ron Dennis has thrown his support behind Jacques Villeneuve's bid to return to Formula One.

Villeneuve, the F1 champion in 1997, is bidding to return to the sport with his own team. He is putting together a proposal with former Italian GP2 outfit Durango to claim the 13th spot on the grid for next term.

There is no guarantee of success, with Stefan GP and Epsilon also thought to be in the running, but Dennis feels it would be good for the sport to bring Villeneuve back into the fold.

"Everyone in the world of Formula One hopes it will work," Dennis told French Canadian publication Rue Frontenac. "It is always good to keep former Formula One champions in the sport. But it won't be easy for him to enter the sport with a team. It will be all down to his financial package."

While reading the original story from Rue Frontenac from last Wednesday, F-1 or NASCAR? - Both are interesting avenues for Villeneuve, I noticed an interesting fact that I did not know about Gilles.

Keep in mind this was translated with google translate. tongue
Without the name of Villeneuve, there was little chance that Ron Dennis, McLaren boss crossed the starting grid of the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis, says the arrival of potential new team. After all, the project brought back memories to Dennis, who tried to hire Gilles Villeneuve when the latter died in 1982 and was well aware of his dealings Team Villeneuve to launch in early 1980.

"The big question we must ask is:" Is this all really true? says Dennis. It is financially that will decide everything. "

It was for financial reasons, when partners of Gilles in 1980 could reduce the support they had promised, despite the association with the name Villeneuve, Villeneuve's dream team has gone up in smoke.

I never knew Gilles was trying to start Team Villeneuve back then. Surprised This makes JV's new team bring on a whole new meaning for me. Cool

Yes, it's Nationwide. I like it better because they have Challengers and Mustangs (Chevy needs to bring in the Camaro and Toyota should bring back the Supra for this). Yesterdays race in Montreal was fun to watch. JV was on pole and led for a lot of the race.
