.... now that Alonso is with Ferrari, it is the perfect time for Schumi to say "Aufwiedersehen" to Ferrari - join Mercedes-Benz GP then wipe Alonso in 2010 !!

Yeah. Why should Schumi be loyal to Ferrari? He gave them more than the other way round. He stuck with them through their bad times from 96-99. I don't think he owes anything to Ferrari. And now that they have signed Alonso, I say good luck to Ferrari.
I don't think Schumi is coming back, but if he is , he will always have my support Very Happy

I don't think he needs to be Ferrari-loyal either, like I said on another thread... if anything he is more loyal to Ross Brawn than to Ferrari, since Brawn was with him for all his championships (Benetton and Ferrari).

Will Ross Brawn and Michael Schumacher be reunited at Mercedes? - Fry admits Schumacher speculation 'very interesting' - News:Schumacher comeback rumours continue - Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has said his team will not stop Michael Schumacher from making a comeback in Formula One.

Schumacher is currently contracted in a consultancy role with Ferrari but di Montezemolo has said he cannot keep him from joining another team. The news comes on the back of a weekend of fevered speculation in the German press that Schumacher is on the verge of signing a deal to drive with Mercedes in 2010. Reports in Bild on Monday suggested only the results of a medical test now stand between Schumacher and a comeback.

When asked by Reuters if the seven-time world champion could be prevented form racing elsewhere by his Ferrari contract di Montezemolo said: "No, [it's] not binding."

"It's clear that if he decides to take another road our agreement will no longer be valid, that is logical," added the Ferrari boss. "You can't work with a competitor and with us at the same time. I still haven't spoken to him about it. He is only a dear friend, not a team member. He is a consultant for our road cars."

Schumacher hoped to make a return with Ferrari last season when Felipe Massa was ruled out of the final seven races with a fractured skull. His comeback was cut short, however, when a neck injury, sustained racing motorbikes, meant he was not fit to race. Since then his manager Willi Weber has gone on the record saying Schumacher is now fit and healthy.

Hi Guys, Glad a few of you are agreeable with me. Alonso was Schumi's main competitor in his final Ferrari years. Ferrari obviously have made the decision to dump Kimi and sign up Alonso for 2010. The German media is reporting that the deal is already done. But with Mercedes having problems with one of the supposed sponsors Henkel, i wonder if they will still be interested in signing up Schumi for a big amount. Granted that his signing up will bring more exposure to their brand, but i doubt he will still be as good as he was in 2006.
But let's wait and see Very Happy

Mate, in my humble opinion Schumi is not only going to be equal to his 2006 performance ..... he will "show 'em how it's done" and better it and win the 2010 title ..... but then again, I am a biased one-eyed down under Schuy fan !!! lol!

If Schumi wins the title I'll be genuinely shocked... I have to admit that.

If McLaren and Ferrari have good cars next season he will have some MAJOR competition. And that's assuming he's still up to speed of his former days.

But I will still cheer for him regardless! santa

I agree he still has the pace. After all, he has been doing pretty good in the ROC and karting where he beat drivers like Vettel, Button, Massa etc. But F1 is a completely different ball game.
So let's wait and see.
First, the news of his comeback have to be confirmed Very Happy

What makes me think it likely to happen is the fact that only short time ago it almost happened already, Michael coming back that is.

True... I would say if he is going to come back at all it has to be next season, especially since he was so bummed out about not being able to fill in for Felipe this season. Waiting longer just doesn't make much sense.

I think he wants to make sure Mercedes will be competitive next season and that he himself is competitive enough to race in F1, before committing himself to a comeback.
Another thing probably delaying it is his attachment to Ferrari.

Guys I've been a Schuy fan since 1992 and I drive and am a club member of Mercedes-Benz since 2002 ..... I personally LOVE reading about a Schumi / Mercedes come back !!!
