Re: Gran Turismo 5
I'll be getting one. Torn between the Fanatec and the G27. And I'll get one of my spare karting seats and set it up with the wheel. Gonna be awesome.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
It's shit without a wheel though as all racing games are. You'll never get anywhere near the best lap time with the controller.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
Even if you could, it would still wouldn't be as fun. And that's the whole point in the end. I do not regret purchasing a wheel. It's just a shame I am waiting on these racing games to be released. The old games are just getting a bit dry now.

I've never really played these games online. I'm a bit of a loner racer.

You're right about that MONSTAR. It's very hard to see your rear end in my rear view mirror...unless you spin out.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
Having a down week atm.
So I've just preordered the signature edition.
Boo yeh!
edit: slight update, it appears the competition to win the mercedes is actually a real competition, every owner of signature edition races off against each other both online and in real life and I suppose the quickest man wins?
So no car for me then.

I know I'm getting the signature edition. Been waiting years for this and will probably define my life with my PS3. I'll be glued to my kart seat and G27 wheel setting fastest lap after fastest lap, beating MONSTAR over and over.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
I do, I started playing it again, forgot how much fun it can be. But hopefully the final game has a bit more jazz and stuff.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
Don't have prologue. Silly me thought it would be a waste of money telling myself "why pay for a demo when the full version is right around the corner!".
Still have GT4 though

Re: Gran Turismo 5
It can get a bit dull, you know, not many cars, not many tracks, not many race modes, boring music.
As I said, hopefully GT5 is fully featured, shiny, glossy, etc. I remember getting 100% on GT2. (the last one I owned). That game was amazing at the time.
Don't know how they do it, but the car models in GT simply look more accurate, they always have. The aspect ratio, the little bits, it's spot on. Even Forza never looked quite right to my eyes. Don't know what it is.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
The thing with the GT team is that they are obsessed with perfection and attention to detail. That can only work out to our advantage. How often do you get a game, or any product for that matter where you know the makers really care about its quality and longevity. They would almost never release the game if it was up to Kazunori Yamauchi. He said once that once the game releases he would not be happy with it because he knows there is always something to make better. Forza is just another arcade racer in my books, and always will be as long as the GT team are around.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
The smart thing is that Polyphony Digital have already made a profit on GT5 before it even released. That's because they released the alpha version of the game, Prologue, giving them plenty of cash for development and a tidy profit. And now they have a game that will sell PS3s for Sony like hotcakes. And it's not like the games are cheap.

Re: Gran Turismo 5
Not only the car models look more accurate, to me, the physics seem more spot on too. Tried Forza 2 and 3, then GT5P and it's quite a bit different. Flooring the pedal out of a corner will cause the back-end to slide and trying to turn while braking will cause severe understeer.
You guys are a bad influence! I'm so tempted to get the Signature edition now too! lol.

If you need to convince yourself Sivakis, just say, "because I deserve it!"
Actually, the collector edition is probably enough, I know I will read that entire book, I am hopeless with car setup and stuff, so I have a lot to gain from that book. All the other stuff is just shiny and nice to the touch.
