Which Driver Will Benefit Most If Korea Is Cancelled?

Post by RaySinKa on Fri Oct 01, 2010 5:00 pm

Who do you think will gain if the Korean race is cancelled?

With 25 points less available will this give somebody a better chance of being WDC?

There are considerations like engine and gearbox use to take into account.

Who do you think will gain if the Korean race is cancelled?

With a maximum of 43 points less available to a team will this give somebody a better chance of winning the Constructor's Championship?

I say Webber, who along with his team, do not have the huge experience of the two big teams in fighting for the championship till the last lap of the last race. In any of these races they can lose the momentum and disaster will strike. The less the better for them.

This is harder to say. I get the feeling the RedBull duo will get more points together than Hamilton and Button will. And i'm not sure what difference 3 or 4 races will make.

Joking a bit, after a typhoon in Fuji a few years ago, i would love a Suzuka on snow. mrgreen

Depends. Whoever has leading margin after Suzuka is better off I suppose. Probably Webber then.

I really hope that Korea Gp would not being cancelled. It will give Vettle some more chances to win the title of 2010.

Mark will be the driver to benefit most, I really don't hope Mark to be the champion of 2010. He is lucky to have just 1 DNS among all the five contenders, his car seem to be superior and still can finish the race when it crash with others.

I think Alonso, one less race for his "tired" engines to do.

Well, if we'd start eating more veggies and less pork and beef by as little as 5%, we'd produce less CO2 in a quantity that would be enough to sustain full sized F1 seasons for as long as 2 centuries...

Environment my ass.

Depends on the situation. Could be the Webber, could be Alonso (also, if one less race, he might get away without a 10 place penalty), depending where they end up relative to each other in the other races.

Most probably it won't be good for Hamilton

Internet forums will benefit most because it will be another opportunity for theose who love rewriting history to say, 'Driver X was gifted the championship because Korea was cancelled. And you're just a hater if you disagree.' And blah blah blah

Koreans step up F1 track work before inspection
Oct 6, 2010 9:46 AM | By Sapa-AFP

The track for South Korea’s first Formula One event will be ready this week, before a final inspection from the sport’s world governing body, organisers said Wednesday.

European and South Korean engineers have begun final work on the surface of the track built by the Korea Auto Valley Operation (KAVO) at Yeongam, 320 kilometres (200 miles) south of Seoul.

“Work on the final surface layer will probably be done by Friday,” KAVO spokesman Kim Jae-Ho told AFP.

Other facilities such as mobile stands, parking lots and a pedestrian overpass will not be ready when inspectors from the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) visit the circuit on October 11.

“However, we are confident that inspectors will see a complete track down at Yeongam,” Kim said.

The team led by F1 race director and safety delegate Charlie Whiting will “put priority on safety and appropriateness of the track, among other things”, he said.

They will also check safety facilities including tyre barriers, he said.
