Come to think of it. A few years ago Merc were going to bring out a DTM car just before the GP and do a run around Bathurst.

Ive never heard anything about since and couldn't find any info on the net about it too. Maybe they canned that idea when their engineers worked out that no matter what they weren't going to get close to Murph's time.

DTMs are limited to 460 HP......from 4.0 V8s. Supercars run 5.7 litre pushrod V8s right? Its not a straight comparison.

Also the DTMs use purpose built chassis...Aussie Supercars use road car related ones.

also the DTMs sound like little buzz box 2L 4 cylinders like the crap BTCC cars

DTM should follow our format, be more road based, not a purpose built chassis like a single seater with fake bodies

I dont see why it has to be a road car chassis.....it just cheats everyone into thinking that the cars are representative of road cars.....which they certainly are not!!!

Also its Aussie motorhead style to have big old tech engines, its Euro style to have smaller, more efficient, yet powerful and technological engines. So each to his own.
