What’s your worst injury?

You know, the one that hurt when you got it….hurt while being cared for….hurt whilst telling your friends about getting it….hurts just thinking about it….

No, WE don’t want to hear about the gal who broke your heart or the fella who just doesn’t understand color combinations, matching clothing articles…and….stuff…..

My worst “ouch” was tearing my anterior cruciate ligament (knee) in a ski racing tournament. It still hurts all these years latter whilst chasing sniveling little snotty kids down the ski slopes…jump after….jump….after….jump….OUCH!

I fell out of my loft... luckily my face broke my fall... broke both my wrists but felt like I had broken
every bone in my body... hurt like hell for weeks and like you say, hurts just thinking about it....

my worst... i flew off a bike, down a ramp, while going too fast. nothing broken but i guess that was the worst physically. lotsa bruises...

it's nothing compared to what you guys wrote. and i can't think of anything else. i'm boring.

Everytime I crash my mountain bike I jump up, look for injuries and have never had any.

But I guess the worst was walking into a flying apple which someone had chucked at someone else and which hit my EYE!!!!

I haven't suffered any major injuries but have two which stick in my mind since being a kid.
The first ......was playing in the garden when I fell and hit the house wall face-on, almost crushed my nose and resulted in two black eyes and talking like I had a very bad cold for weeks.....that was pretty painful
The second was like Pixx's, I was racing my bike round my grandparent's long curved gravel driveway when my stupid cousin and brother jumped out in front of me, naturally I braked, flew over the handlebars and landed on the gravel. Result was many bruises and a huge gash in my thigh (still have the scar). Took my grandmother hours to pick out all the bits of grit and gravel so you can imagine how that hurt! I still remember the pain now when I think of it

I got many crying moment's, but injuries are more important.

In my early riding days, this horse just wanted to get rid of me as a rider.
We were on a small bush track, she (horse) saw a low overhanging tree,
so she just took of towards it. Before I knew, I got hit with that tree on my forehead,
flew of the saddle, over back of the galloping horse.
Dunno at how long I was out 1min or half an hour.
Slowly picked myself up, staggered back to camp site dizzy as hell.
Next day I had my both eyes swollen up and heavily bruised.

Then, few months later that horse got me again, we were grossing a
small creek, she slipped on a stone, so we both fell over in a water.
Me hitting side of my jaw on a rock, took me a week until I was able to chew again.

Those are nothing, comparing at Dodo stopped loving me.
That been the most painful thing to swallow.
I think at he just used me for few fancy post's, without really thinking of consequences. I fell in Love.

Anyway life goes on, no point to lick my wounds for ever,

Never had a broken hand or leg, but both my knees had to be sutured in 6 months. With the right knee I hit a sharped piece of iron while I tried to jump over it, and the left knee I hit the kerb on very high speed.

Fell off my friend's bike when i tried to take a curve too fast. My mobile which was in my shirt pocket flew off and fell about 10m away. At first i didn't feel anything and got up immediately. But when i tried to lift the bike, i couldn't lift it. My friends who were on other bikes nearby tried to comfort me by telling nothing happened. But an X-Ray revealed what i already knew, a broken right clavicle ( shoulder bone ) . Luckily, I didn't feel too much pain but had to take rest for a month.

Had ligaments partially torn in both of my ankles, those were pretty bad.
Also had one partially torn in one of my knees that still hurts sometimes after many many years. Even worse was a dislocated shoulder, that prevented me from moving properly and sleeping for months.
The top was falling into an open manhole of sorts and cracking a few ribs, that only hurt for about a week, but it was horrible. I couldn't laugh, sneeze, cough, fart or even breathe deeply, as all of these gave me intense pain...

When I was 6 or 7 a swing hit my chin. I was very lucky as it hardly hit me from a side.
Had it hit me on the fore head or the neck I would not be here. I got like 12 stitches.

4 or 5 years later, I was riding my bike (you know the cross bmx that there were in europe) and we used to jump on a sand pile that was in front of a house that was being built.
We tried to go at highest speed possible and jump as far as possible. One morning, suddenly, a cement mixer was placed behind the sand, and I landed into it. Guess where I got injured? My chin. Again 8 or 10 stitches.

I got it re-stitched when I was 20 after a minifoot game. I fell on the ground and guess what? yep, my chin. But that was ok, only threes titches that time.

I had a broken finger playing football. I wa the goalkeeper and I broke the right small finger trying to stop a ball.

A broken wrist (I do not remember how, I just remember the cast. Damned I am getting old.

I cannot complain as my ligaments are bulletproof. I should have suffered tens of sprained ankles playing basketball. I think that the word is bended, isn't it? When your feet forms a 90º angle with your leg. It hurts, but I never had a big troubble. Ice, sometimes Reflex gel, but I never had further problems with my ankles.

BTW....my knee is better....I'm beginning to think I've gained a little too much weight OR I slipped on some ice getting out of the car. I hope its the latter.

Smashed right knee in a skateboard ramp in Prague, a bit loose since then. I guess I couldn't 'air walk' properly, board hook up on the coping:)
Other knee is operated after ligaments snapped during floorball (sort of floor hockey) exercise. No more skiing

twisted my knee in a basketball game straining my ACL, but luckily no tear. But still felt like hell and full recuperation (no pain, whatsoever) took almost 6 mos.
