Hmmm -- I'll keep hoping for his return, there was so much promise before his accident.

I'm not that confident for him....I can't see him driving as well as he used to.

Well is driving a function of how fit you are, or does it relate to your reactions, vision and understanding of how speed works?

Well he should not have lost the reactions, vision and understanding. That leaves the functionality of the arm.

It will need strength and the ability for fine control.

I don't think RK's physically fit to undergo g-forces required to endure 20 races. You can't practice g-force loads on your body. He's been out of a car for a very long time.

How do you maintain very high speed reaction times outside a race car? I imagine race simulators help. Has RK been in one recently?

It's rather cramped in the cockpit too. Has physio allowed RK to be flexible enough to contort himself back into the car?

Sorry, I'm not that confident for him....I can't see him driving as well as he used to.
No

At the moment the latest information I have about him is not very good," the Spaniard admitted. "He can not drink using his hand — I mean he cannot take a glass and drink, so it doesn’t look too good."

:-(((((( this saddens me a great deal ..........

Bleh, it's over... if he's unable to hold a glass almost 2 years after his accident, he'll never drive and F1 car again.

I wonder what might have been, if not for the accident.

It's one year GW.

Well, hope was all we had, seems it's fading slowly. Kubica was a better driver than most hailed as top drivers ... now we'll most likely never see him in an f1 car ....

True zing, thanks! Seemed like he was away forever (at least more than a year).
It's always sad to see a career cut short, especially of someone's with such great talent.
Not the first and not the last occassion I'm afraid... but he's alive unlike Marco Simoncelli and Don Wheldon (not a typo).

Very True GW - after Montreal and walking away from that ... an accident so horrific ... that was a miracle in itself.

I read a book about Michael Groom, a mountain climber who lost half of both his feet to frostbite after his first big mountain. Big meaning top 5 highest on Earth.

Despite being told he would struggle to walk ever again he went on to not only walk, but to become the first Australian to climb the 5 highest mountains on earth without oxygen assistance. Including multiple Everest ascents.

If Kubica has the motivation I wouldn't rule anything out.

Could take another few years but I still think he can return to racing, F1 or not.

Kubica seems to have done a few laps in a rally car at the same place where he had his accident. Let's hope this is the first step of his eventual comeback to F1:
