PS3 YLOD FAILURE

Post by MONSTAR on Sun Mar 13, 2011 11:32 am

My PS3 shit it self on friday. Got the YLOD Evil or Very Mad Laughing
It has to be sent off to Sydney and they will more than likely replace it with a new slim. 2-6 weeks without my PS3 will kill me lol.
Lucky i got the 24 months extended warranty cheers or id be up shit creek without a paddle in a barbwire canoe

What happen was. I was playing GT5 and all of a sudden without any warning it just shut off and made 3 beeping sound and the red light starting flashing. I new instantly that this wasnt good. tried turning it back on but the lights just flash and a yellow light comes on then goes red and shuts down. Worst thing is that my GT5 is still stuck in the dam PS3 Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad . I probably will never see it again Evil or Very Mad

A couple of points.

1. No surprise that GT5 could fry a system.
2. If you have downloaded any video content of Playstation store, you will not be able to use it on your new machine unless your old one is deactivated. You may need to hassle Sony for this. The way it works is your account ('Monstar') has been activated against your old console. Your name can be activated against several consoles, and I believe the max number for game content is 5. But the video content is locked to 1 machine only.
3. You will not get the same machine back, so you have more than likely lost everything. I perform a backup of my PS3 every few months. You should do this too in the future to make the loss more bearable.

Sorry to hear the bad news.
