Hi Guys,

Breaking News:

Sony just signed up with this Aussie company called Audio Pixels Limited ....... their Invention enables the production of speaker products that deliver performance that is many orders of magnitude better than conventional speaker technologies, all in an affordable package that is only one millimetre thick.

Check them out here: http://www.audiopixels.com.au/index.cfm/audio-pixels/

Might pay to buy shares in them maybe??

Looks like the days of BIG speaker boxes are gonna be really over !!!! cheers

I thought that to get bass, you needed to move a lot of air (hence the big cones for bass). So how does this stuff work?

Sorry Schuy1, but that product description looks like it was written by a marketing guy.......who has been sniffing the same products as the promoters of the USF1 team.

I mean "many orders of magnitude better"....&......."affordable"

Yeah Rus - I reckon it is written by some marketing guy ...... after all, it is NEW patented technology, so I guess at this stage we are not going to get a whole lot of info re the workings of the speakers - only on how good the company shares are to invest in!!

Time will tell, I guess.

I dont like Apple due to:

1, Over priced
2, Over hyped
3, Over restricted

I repect Apple due to:

1, Rebranding the smartphone into something I want
2, Rebranding the tab so as to practically reinvent it.
3, Their OSs and apps on mobile devices appear to work very well

So I hope they invent/reinvent/rejig some other idea so that I can wait 18mths to get a nice inexpensive version from a 3rd party copier.

Would the Smartphones (that seemingly everyone has) be the same without Apple and what they did for the iphone?

Im not sure. Credit where credit is due........the smartphones I saw before the iphone came out dont seem to cut the mustard,

You would have to sue yourself, I would think, if you broke your own promise. Laughing

There were plenty of high quality smart phones pre-apple, but they cost quite a pretty penny. The App market is a great new thing we can credit them for. Competition is always a good thing in any market. Something that Apple is beginning to strangle with their disingenuous law suits.

I am quite certain that iPhone will eventually go the way of MacOS, where Android becomes the Windows platform of mobile phones. The hardware-locked-to-software approach is an inferior business model long term (IMO), and a tough pill for me to swallow.

And I exhibit iPad as proof that Apple can sell anything they put their label on. I can't imagine not having buyers remorse after falling for that one. Laughing

Remorse on having iPad? Not me, nor my whole family, especially my 2-year old. Its amazing to watch her navigate thru iPhone/ipad, while struggling with my BB.

I agree. I give Apple credit for making the smartphone the way it is, especially in the interface and the application fronts. However, it seems very often that they try to kill their competitors. We, the consumers, need competition to get better products and to receive better service. They try to build Apple empire, which annoys a lot of people including me.

Yeh, I saw a kid playing a game on an iPad on the tram going to the Melbourne GP. Completely oblivious to his surroundings. My little cousin is 9 years old and I bet he couldn't find his way home from school, he just plays games the whole way in the car. Heck he plays games whilst walking through the shopping mall.

But that is a separate, different issue. Wink

They have been taking lessons from Microsoft, who like to kill competitors, but Apple did indeed move things on, making it more mass market. The UI is very nice and an idiot could use it.

That blame is probably for the competitors not being able to match Apple. Just like RBR right now.

I thought Microsoft usually bought their competitors rather than killing them.

I want to tether an iTouch to my Vodafone 845....... the phone is so small I could carry both easily when I needed to........ then I would have Android and Apple apps, as well as GPS and 3G. Only thing is that Android phones that are probably almost as good as an iTouch are now only about $100 more than an itouch..... so a better phone is likely the smartest bet. Would also be better for satnav

If I do take the darkside it would only be with an itouch......no other apple tempts me........ the forbidden fruit lols.
