Do you have an Android device? There are lots of free Apps on the Android market. Infact, there are a few apps that are paid on the iOS store and free on Android ( like Angry Birds for e.g ). If you have a Samsung Android device, go to the Settings->Applications and enable the 'Unknown Sources' option and then you can install a lot of free apps from the Samsung App store. Samsung offers a lot of great apps that are paid on the Android market for free.

If you are looking for other sources for free apps , then you know where to look pirat

The market is good for finding things and is on your phone.

For all Android users who want to try out the Windows Phone look ( Metro UI ) on their Android phones, you can download this app called Launcher 7 on the Market.

I certainly wouldn't want market and camera as two of only 6 quick launchers.

People who use it say that the UI is very good and that the experience is very smooth. I guess we can see it for ourselves when Windows 8 is released and brings the same look to the Desktop too.

You can add as many tiles as you want. The screen scrolls vertically. I have a lot more shortcuts below the ones shown in the screenshot Smile

. The Camera shortcut was actually added by me ( and I removed a few of the shortcuts that came by default ). You can see that the Camera Icon doesn't blend with the rest of the UI so well.

At the end of the day a UI needs to be easy to us and smooth and stable. I dont need 100,000 apps (so app store size is not relevant), I just need the important ones.

I would try a different OS, Im not an android junkie-fanboy-monkey

the thing i like about Android is that there are a lot of ROMs outside to try and you never get bored with it. Laughing

So even manufacturers stopped supporting our phones there will be developers who will release the latest ROMs for our old phones.

They have also pulled out the Iphone 3G ( can't believe people still buy this ), 3G3 and Iphone 4 from their stores due to a previous order from the court.

Seems like German courts ( and some courts in the US, especially Texas ) are very friendly to patent holders, compared to the Netherlands or other countries where the judges seem to read through the patents and throw them out if they are too broad or have prior art.

And people have kinda copied Apple in may ways!!!

But as a non-apple guy this goes in my favour........apple are never interested in a medium budget, middle adopter like me........ they only like zombie-chumps with a lot of disposable income.

Everyone copies everyone else. That is how innovation happens. Apple on the other hand, thinks that they can copy everyone but will sue you if someone else copies them. Apple has copied lots of ideas from others and then claims to have invented them. But has gone after others for copying things from them.
And that is not even the main issue. Apple applies for stupidly broad patents on things that have been done for years before them and then starts suing competitors over them. And they have even secretly transferred some of their patents to some patent trolls so that they can go after Apple's competitors.

most of apple products are more or less base on technologies that have been there before. And they get patents for those things and tried to sue others. For me I blame the patents system. If they do proper way, apple will not be abusing it now.

Congrats. Was it 2.3.3 or 2.3.6 ? I think the updates in the US are very delayed due to the carriers.

In other news, a study has found out that iOS apps crash more than Android apps. Apple fanboys always called Android a laggy and crashy OS. I wonder what excuse the ifanboys will come up with now Razz
