Re: MotoGp Thread
MotoGP is switching to 1000cc from 2012. They had 990cc engines from 2002 to 2007 when they switched to 800cc. I think this is good news as drivers have been complaining about the 800cc bikes.

Re: MotoGp Thread
cost cutting.
There's a bunch of 1000ccm street bikes that can be tuned and modified by the manufacturers. Basically every manufacturer has them...
For the 800ccm formula they had to start from square one.
I wonder what restrictions they'll have on the 1000 engine, as the 800s were pretty much beating the records of the previous 1000 ones.
Just imagine if F1 engines were back at 3 liters from 2011... That would be awesome!!!
On a sidenote, the 250 ccm class will be gone next year and there will be a Moto 2 class with 600 4 stroke engines... I haven't heard about the 125 ccm class though. Any word on that?

Re: MotoGp Thread
Yeah there has been no news on 125cc, so we can assume that it will still be there. Aprilia has announced that they won't be competing in the Moto 2 Class as they are not interested in a spec series. Moto2 will be using Honda engines and Dunlop tyres.
Its kinda sad as Aprillia had 6 bikes in the top 10 and were supplying bikes to the majority of the teams.

2010 will also be awesome. The competition and entertainment level is just so good in MotoGP now. Rossi, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Stoner will fight so hard for the supremacy and we, the fans, will be the winners!

Moto2 is like GP2 then. No wonder Aprilia won't take part using Honda engine!

Re: MotoGp Thread
Congrats Rossi on winning the Qatar GP for the first time. Too bad Stoner crashed early while leading. Seems like the fight would be between Yamaha and Ducati again this season, although Honda seems to have improved a lot too.
Also, Nicky Hayden finally seems to be getting the hang of that Ducati, although he is nowhere near the pace of Stoner yet.
Congrats to Capirossi on completing 300 race starts. Too bad his Suzuki is not on the pace of the top teams or he would be fighting for the wins.

Did anyone see the race???
Woah, it was great. I can't get how Lorenzo is slower at the start and then manages to catch on front, but he was incredible. Same for Pedrosa, doing the best that could be done with that nervous Honda.
