Steve Jobs has been terminal for what seems like decades. I talk with medical people who have an eye for such things, and they've been predicting this moment for a long time.

So whilst not shocking, it is still a jolting experience. I'm not a fan, yet I do have great respect for the guy at the same time. Neutral

RIP. He leaves behind a wife and family I think.

This looked imminent from his recent photos. This guy would never have stepped down unless it wasn't that bad.

Never a fan of Apple, but I do respect Steve Jobs. Like most successful businessman, he's done bad things and good things, but you can say one thing about his achievements - he really changed our lives.

RIP.

I got the first sick joke early this morning before I heard the news.

Don't care about Apple but he is a human being with a family so any loss is very sad.

PS. Don't read on...

Last night Apple Corporation called an emergency conference to announce the release of the...

I totally didnt expect my thread to contain any! Took me by surprise, but each to his own I guess.

Then do something constructive for humanity like commit suicide and see if your comments about dead people come true....

I'm not a big fan of Steve Jobs, unlike most of my friends who revere him like a messiah. He was a control freak and a megalomaniac. But there is no denying the fact that he is a genius and we might not see another technological leader like him in our life times. His contributions to the field of technology will live on for decades. RIP Steve Jobs.

There are plenty of true visionaries like him. I am thinking of the Space-Ex/Tesla guy as a good example.

It's just that none of them are as 'in-your-face' as Steve was, nor are they involved in such a mainstream affordable everyday product.

Funny how his death is recognized like no other business leader.....more like a rock star!

I mean with the positives, but all the negative jokes too. Havent had that since Micheal Jackson went.

He intended that kind of status, didn't he? He was the master of marketing. He made the world to pay attention to him.

And they did. And his company has a core of die hard fans, not consumers who will buy a product on reputation alone. That is marketing gold.

Of course you have to credit the products, they are generally of good quality and work well, and show innovation.

But of course I dont like the high cost, the hype, the over-restrictiveness and the hype. But that dislike wont let me not give credit where its due (but I think many turn this distaste into near-hate, rather illogical).
