No. It will be somehow settled out of court... or Berni will bribe his way out of it, as usual.

CVC Capital, the private equity firm which controls Formula One, has revealed that a successor to the sport's chief executive Bernie Ecclestone will come from outside the motorsport industry.

Is that a good idea? How could he possibly work with the best interests of the sport in mind (not that Bernie does), if he hasn't been in and around it?

From a fan's point of view 22 races is great, but the teams would hate it.

Regardless, I do love old A1-Ring. Red Bull Ring doesn't sound right Evil or Very Mad

Andrew Benson
on Alonso & Ferrari
"Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo is playing a dangerous game in publicly admonishing Fernando Alonso.

"The Spaniard has carried Ferrari on his back for the last four seasons, performing miracles in an uncompetitive car. So it is understandable if he is frustrated, even if his manager meeting Red Bull's team boss Christian Horner in Hungary was probably not the most sensible idea.

"Di Montezemolo's actions are unlikely to sit well with Alonso, a proud man and truly great driver.

"How will this end? Will everyone calm down and accept that, for all their current problems, Alonso and Ferrari are probably in the best place they can be? Or will it turn sour, in the way Alonso's relationship with McLaren did six years ago?"

It was bound to happen sooner or later. The Red car is not up to the task and everybody knows it.

Anyway - this is shades of Prost ... I wonder if spells the end of Alonso at Ferrari.

It's not as bad as it was for Prost, but still...
From the 4 years Alonso has spent at the team, Ferrari only provided a car that was only slightly inferior in 1 year only. In the rest the car was basically useless (from championship point of view).

No wonder Alonso is looking elswhere, but with all the regulation changes for next year there's no guarantee that the pecking order won't change significantly...

As much as I disliked Alonso in his Renault years, I really wish he won another championship. He deserves it. Of course it would be the sweetest, if it WASN'T with Ferrari Laughing

Alonso at Red Bull would be absolutely intriguing. If he beats Vettel straight in a few seasons, he might just be agreed as the best driver of this generation. But that would also mean Ferrari fall completely off the cliff without a superhuman driver like him.

Ferrari would hire the next best thing immediately. Could well do a straight swap for Vettel. I'm not sure it's in Red Bull's best interests to have Vettel and Alonso anyway.

Hey people! Alonso in Ferrari driving a useless car for 4 last years and still nearly winning WDC twice. Isn't that an interesting claim? Considering that Fernando is supposed to be an excellent car developer par none in grid why Ferrari isn't THE best car currently. It's been 4 years he has had time to develope it!

I don't believe Ferrari to have been a dog of a car these past 4 seasons, not the best, but in top 1-4 in about all races.

Claiming that the success of Ferrari these past 4 years is solely upon Alonso's shoulders is so bogus, that even Easter Bunny seems more real in comparison. I am NOT saying that Fernando isn't a great driver. He is definitely one of 4 best most of the times, and in his best days the best, but to claim 'Michael Schumacheresque' -style propaganda as in 'he would win even in Minardi' - F1 (urban) legends, is so not true, that even his most devote fans should try to pull their heads out of his **** and realize this.

Now, why Montezemolo, who is not one to mince his words, is saying that Fernando should be careful with his words, is because his lead driver is publicly heavily dissing his own team. A very no-no thing to do usually.

I understand Fernando, frustration is building. I understand also Montezemolo, his driver is giving bad publicity on Ferrari brand. I am however surprised, why they both do their comments so openly.

Well, in the end, drama is fun!  mrgreen

ps. and before anyone comments on it (since I am Kimi fan): yes, Kimi dissed his own team some. But if you really want to compare how Fernando and Kimi have commented on their own teams, how about you do it for their whole careers, and see the difference.  Laughing

Well Kimi doesnt say much about anything Razz   Who has praised their team more, Fernando or Kimi???  Fernando I think.

I think Vettel, Hamilton and Button are more inclined to be vocally negative than either Kimbo or Fernonso when things don't go their way.

I haveant heard Fernando's comments but they were probably after the race on the day I think the WDC ended for Alonso. Ferrari cant pull a season together, its so disappointing. Alonso is driving at the very top of his game, he kind of deserves another championship.

At least Alonso`s respect has gone through the roof especially after last year, a near perfect season.

Rumor has it Ferrari approached Kimi's management...
wonder if it's true or not, and if it is, is it to replace Massa or Alonso? Razz
Either case, I think I know what the answer will be...
