I just hope he gets a podium next year. It is possible, sadly though, best chance is at start of season and he will still be adjusting to new car, and especially new tires.

P10 not the best place to start but better than P17 in Oz.

With the drive like in OZ, he will be further up the grid come cheq flag. Lotus top speed is 2nd to Merc, and it's easier to overtake.

I have been positively surprised by his moderate success. I thought it takes him longer to familiarize on tires and then to get points and challenge for podiums.

But he wasn't the only one failing on that strategy. I guess China is the first time they see the Pirelli drop of the cliff that way.
