2015 FORMULA 1 PETRONAS MALAYSIA GRAND PRIX

Post by F1 forever on Fri Mar 27, 2015 3:08 pm

A few days ago, Rosberg talked about how Ferrari is much closer to them than it seemed during the first race, specifically referring to Kimi's middle stint. Wolff was rather impressed by their improvements, and Kimi also mentioned how they're pretty close in terms of race pace, and Ferrari was rumoured to start out with a very conservative package in Australia.

FP 1+2 seem to confirm what these guys said earlier...interesting.

My two favorite drivers in competitive cars at the same time? I take it!

Go Ferrari. Somebody's got to challenge the Mercs. And way to go McLaren for not being dead last :up1:

As long as there are now mishaps again, I expect Kimi to battle with Nico, Seb and Felipe for 3rd. And based on practices alone, which is not very good base I know, his battle will be most likely with Seb. Smile

I want him to win that battle, but as long as he is battling for podium I am happy.

Hmmm I doubt Ferrari is enough in the same solar system as Mercedes, but I hope I'm wrong. Good to see Kimi
happy again in a good car- who would hav imagined it would be back at Ferrari beside Vettel if we look back in time....

I hope Williams have a full dry setup or something, cause they weren't on the pace.

It seems as though Malaysia is the only place I don't want it to rain, cause it disrupts the race for so long.

Also, are there any point in Pirelli making wets anymore? Every time a session/race being restarted lately, it's already dry enough for inters. May as well scrap wets and put the money into something else.

At the start of Q2 everyone lined up at the pit exit. Kimi got stuck behind a slower car during his quick lap and couldn't do a lap quick enough.

Hi Schua - I wish I could watch it too but it's not on Free to Air here in Oz!

Can anyone suggest a good "advertisement friendly" live streaming link please?

Kimi has got to be careful. If Vettel gets his first win today (after putting a Ferrari on the front row for the first time in 2 years)...

To Kimi's defence, he has been quick this weekend and Ferrari probably should have found him a better spot in the queue. Either way, hopefully this race has lots of twists and turns!

Hearing the German and Italian national anthems back to back hit me right in the nostalgia.

Great racing today. Who would have thought Ferrari would be matching (or beating) Merc? I really hope Kimi can get in the fight if the luck goes his way.

that anthem was so nostalgic haha, wow fantastic race from Vettel. Realistically though Mercedes fucked up, dont mean to curse but cant be put any other way. Ferrari are real, competition is real 2 races in and 2015 is already better than last year

Good race from Vettel.
It was strange watching F-1 after such a long time. Seems like the cars had switched colors. Williams looks like a Sauber and Force India looks like a Mclaren Laughing .
Also, it was strange to see very little ads on TV, since I was watching it on Star Sports HD. And no Steve Slater either. Yay!!!

Well...well...well...

A motivated Vettel in a car that he can drive on the limit is a tough customer. Lewis better get ready to battle with the 4-time WDC!

And to all the naysayers after the first race: Told ya so. Wink Ferrari is really good!

Great race!

Ferrari to go all in:

Now, Italy's authoritative La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Ferrari has ramped up its financial attack on Mercedes, increasing its F1 budget for 2015 from EUR 270 to 370 million.

They've never been short on funds of course...

This race proves that Horner is right: It's time for the FIA to step in! The Ferrari domination is killing the sport!!! Rolling Eyes

Also, the Toro Rosso need to be slowed down, obviously. They're also making them look bad.

Mercedes' Wolff:

We were beaten fair and square by Ferrari and Sebastian, who did a fantastic job, and I'm not sure we could have matched their long run pace at any point. They took a well-deserved win. We saw on Friday that Kimi was really strong in these hot conditions, with the track over 60 degrees, and that was confirmed in the race.
