Ferrari 1 lap pace quick Vettel right on pace with Lewis - long runs better. Ha ... finally a team to seriously challenge Mercedes.

I want to see Rosberg challenge in this race. Put everything else aside and make it a championship. Hell, have Hamilton off. Spice things up a bit!

Ferrari obviously with fantastic pace this weekend. Should be favorites to win tomorow. And that Vettel is a killer on his last lap in qualifying is nothing new.

Can't wait for Nico to complain about Vettel not driving fast enough ahead of him during the race!

I don't remember that big a gap from Lewis to Nico in Q .... Now if Vettel goes through turn 1 in 2nd, we may have a proper race between teams other than Lewis and Rosberg.

Looks as though Lewis is going to romp away with this one tomorrow. But hey, a 5 car battle for 2nd? Better than nothing!

Rosberg said he didn't expect Vettel to beat him.

And those FP session(s) didn't give him a hint? I expected Vettel on the front row, for sure. That guy is so dangerous in a car that suits him.

Ferrari has so much momentum...no doubt in my mind that they'll soon have the best car on the grid. The question is just if it happens fast enough so they can win the WDC this season already.

I hope not! Wink But I'm very happy about their competitiveness.

I don't know what to think about Kimi. He looks very fast most of the weekend, but when it counts the most, he just doesn't seem to get it together.

Arrivabene:

"You want to know what I said to Kimi?" Arrivabene said. "He was telling me about the contract and I said to him, it depends on your performance. And Kimi, he's the kind of person that he appreciates when you're talking with him in a very transparent way and straight to his face.

"Kimi knows, now it's early to talk about this at the moment. I'm happy about the performance of Kimi but he needs to push and he knows that."

Seems everything Nico does is illogical.  Last week he said he should have had pole - this week he said he was concentrating on race day and not so much on pole.   It's ok - I like Vettel's position better... better race pace than Merc in Practice is going to be a nail bitter tomorrow while Nico stays confused about his strategy.......

LEWIS!!!!!!!! cheers

I had Ferrari as favorites to win, and Kimi going from 4th to 2nd, finishing only 3.3 secs behind Lewis and overtaking Rosberg with ease, came pretty damn close.

But I guess Lewis gives you that little extra that makes the difference between 1st and 2nd.

GREAT RACE KIMI!!!  respect3

Was really wondering about Ferrari's strategy for him...but it worked! Didn't look like it for quite a while...I guess that's why these guys invest millions into their strategy departments.

Fastest lap for him too, equalling Alain Prost.

Unlucky for Rosberg, I think he may well have fought Kimi off if the brakes didn't go. That said, excellent race from Kimi despite the strategy not really being in his favour. I think that if they pitted Kimi the lap after Vettel, after he had caught them up, he may well have fought for the lead (especially with Mercs brake problems).

Bottas showed his worth once more. Wonder what Massa could have done if he didn't have those problems at the start.

Rookie race from Vettel, too many mistakes and costly ones at that.

Dan was lucky that his engine exploded at the right time!

Pretty amazing how close the Mercs and Ferraris are...little mistakes/issues make the difference at that level. And Ferrari is rumoured to take a big step forward engine-wise in Europe...

Hopefully Williams can join the fight, also.

It took Lewis 4 races to gain a points advantage over Rosberg that is about the same Rosberg had after the first race last season (with Lewis' DNF).

Hopefully the reliability holds up for all contenders.

I like Arrivabene. He seems to strike a balance between Mr. Niceguy, and subtly prodding his drivers to up their game:
