FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX DU CANADA 2015

Post by F1 forever on Fri Jun 05, 2015 7:03 pm

Here we go!

Some reports suggest Ferrari's new engine moves the team just 15 horse power shy of Mercedes, with the Montreal layout and Pirelli's soft tyres also expected to suit the SF15-T.

So Hamilton ahead of Vettel, Kimi and Nico...looks promising, but I don't know when the rain set in (FP2) and how meaningful it all was...

Hamilton 20th in FP3...pretty impressive! I guess the realization of being the team's No. 2 driver is weighing heavily on him! Wink

Is Alonso starting to lose hair? For some reason he was driving without his helmet today:

Probably to accentuate the lack of speed...

Kimi's best qualifying result this season in third, with Vettel held back by technical problems. It's still positive, since despite having the second-best car in F1 at his disposal, I think he had only qualified once in the Top 4 before.

Interesting:

Max Verstappen just missed out on a place in Q3, but with a 15-place grid penalty Verstappen will start from the back of the grid regardless. Because Verstappen was not high enough up the grid to serve all 15 places of his penalty, he will also receive a 10-second time penalty in the race, which will be served at his first pit stop.

I didn't know it works that way. All those combined result in a pretty harsh penalty...

Great race by him! From 18th to 5th, taking quite a few risks, great pace, even had to deal with some bad luck...while Kimi went from 3rd to 4th (not sure why he spun).

Man, Lewis' gap to Nico is only 17 PTS...that's only HALF of what it should have been!

Exclamation

He got robbed big time.

..also a big thank you to the TV director who thought it would be nice to give us a close-up of
Al Pacino's ear hair while cars were racing....

It was, and yes it is getting worse, much worse!!

When a TV director is looking at a bank of screens why does he find it so
difficult to show the action we really want to see?

Why do they have this fascination with showing the crowd or the back of team personnel
sitting on the pit wall... or Rosbergs boss-eyed wife... or Lewis's current squeeze.. or some
so called celebrity while racing is still going on?  If we wanted to see anything other than the
racing we would be on Facebook!!

When was the last time they showed not just who was first and second but everyone crossing
the line down to say 8th place rather than hairy team members hugging each other or crowd
shots.

Rosberg is smoking some good shit....proclaiming he lost the race in qualifying. I bet if Lewis qualified 3rd, he would've still won the race. He was pulling 0.3s at will in a sector.

The stars need to align for Rosberg to beat Hamilton. The right track, the prefect setup, Hamilton not quite on it and perhaps some help from the team lol.

As for the racing, DRS has to go ASAP. The limitations on the number engines and power unites or whatever per season needs to be loosened. Four a year is ridiculous. Rolling Eyes
