FORMULA 1 GROSSER PREIS VON ÖSTERREICH 2015

Post by F1 forever on Fri Jun 19, 2015 6:10 pm

Grüß Gott everyone!  Hello

Looks like this one could be interesting: Both Ferrari and Mercedes agreed after the last race that the true progress Ferrari made with their engine was masked by the track they drove on...and now, for the first time this season, a Ferrari has actually posted the fastest time on a Friday afternoon session!

Hoping for a good battle...and a convincing qualifying from Kimi!

Good afternoon!

Should be interesting....  surprised not to see LH go out on wets late on, I guess he is confident of his wet weather driving..??

I really don't think Kimi is what he was once...  does he have a Ferrari contract for next year??

Looking forward to quali!!

Kimi has Ferrari (optional) contract for 2016, however, it needs signing by Ferrari, LOL.

I've been trying to be in denial about it, but I guess I can't even fool myself anymore. After losing the podium with a spin in Canada, now he doesn't even make it through Q1...

I don't know how much blame the team will put on him for these things internally, but these are the few remaining races where he has to impress to get the additional year....

Hamilton now 7:1 vs. Rosberg in quali, same as Vettel vs. Kimi.

These engine regs are ridiculous. Not even half way through the season and teams are taking penalties all over the place. I'm getting sick of this shit.

The Mercedes guys are a little surprised that Ferrari didn't look stronger in quali. During the long runs, Ferrari was two tenths quicker, and also looked very good on a single lap earlier. They may have botched their strategy, as they changed their strategy wrt. warming up the tyres.

Man, everytime it seems like this might be the race Ferrari takes over, something strange/unexpected happens. Vettel should be very quick tomorrow, and Kimi will have to find his way through the field (like Vettel had to last time). Should be entertaining to watch!

If, and only if, Kimi doesn't get crashed out at first lap, he will be able to drive to 5-7th I think. Just like Vettel did.

BTW, Kimi isn't great qualifier lately, but if he is told to drive outlap and 3 laps, fast, slow, fast (expecting last one to be fastest as track improves all the time), and he does that and team originally sends him too late out (Seb also), plus team doesn't inform him of this too late release which clearly means that strategy needs changing, then what do you people expect him to do?

Amen. There is cost saving, and then there is this idiocy.

Well the teams that have screwed up relative to their plans...I don't see Mercedes- or Ferrari-powered cars doing this (which represent most of the field).

It's not like McLaren cars even last the race distance (this time: 10 laps).

mercedes tried a little trick to get hamilton into the lead, they pitted rosberg and he rejoined behind massa, they then kept hamilton out for a few laps

the problem was that williams pit massa a lap later, if they didnt then hamilton would be very close

What BS.

Rosberg was in the lead, so he was allowed to pit first, and he increased his lead as one would expect with the superior strategy.
