2015 FORMULA 1 BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

Post by F1 forever on Fri Aug 21, 2015 2:54 pm

So many interesting storylines!

I'm especially interested in how Kimi will do now that the pressure is off since he found a lot of success at Spa in the past.

Can Lewis get his head straight after one of the worst performances of his career, despite all the distractions that are documented everywhere?

What about the new procedure for the starts?

Is RedBull competitive here as well?

I dont think Kimi will do any better or any worse than he has been doing... Whatever his
problems are/were I don't think they had anything to do with signing for next year..

Lewis will be fine (or not..) he has always lived his life to the full (distractions!!)and I don't
expect him to change that any time soon.. he will cope.. Smile

The start will be fun for sure..

Judging by this mornings practise sessions RB will be competitive, the biggest problem seems
to be tyre life!

I would laugh if it turns out that it's mainly been the RB car, not the engine, that had been holding them back! Certainly looks like that now, since they fixed their chassis problems while Renault's engine upgrade is still a long ways off.

...rain?

There has been rain at Spa for every F1 weekend since 2007 and Ricciardo admits it will be part of the equation on Sunday. "The rain, you never know here, it sounds like it may come towards the end of the race on Sunday. It can change too quickly. So that could also play a part."

Nope: Jenson 50 and Fernando 55, sooo, 105 combined!

Wow, Lewis! Not bad, not bad. But after his last two starts, doesn't necessarily mean much.

But it sure seems like Mercedes can step it up if they feel like they have to.

And Ferrari...err, what are they doing? Even Mercedes was shocked at their lack of speed. Vettel with a mistake...poor Kimi. Could have won the teammate duel today.

Rain at Spa = Red Flag or follow the Safety Car for 40 laps. Sad

If we consider his whole career, then say over 200 Million reasons. This is not counting in any other incomes than his pay. So yeah, no wonder he has been all smiley. Very Happy

Lewis won the Pole Position Trophy 2015 today! Congrats! cheers
Of course that thing is so unknown (no history) that you barely hear anything about it.

For the season, Lewis has so far outqualified Rosberg 10:1! I think that's the really interesting part. You look at Q1 and Q2, they had virtually identical times. But in Q3, Lewis pulled away by almost half a second. And it's not like Rosberg made a mistake:

"Lewis was just too quick in the end and just found the little bit, or quite a lot extra, which I didn't have in my pocket, so that's it."

In Hungary, it was close to 6 tenths of a second. I think that's pretty remarkable.

Nah, they will give the preference back to Lewis on 2nd pitstop, just to make sure Nico will not pass him. It was good idea to pit Nico first and stay ahead of other teams.
