Fernando's Crash and Safety

WE can be mighty thankful that Fernando was not injured in today's heart stopping crash.

A lot of respect has to be given to the FIA in continually upgrading safety specs and track safety measures.

It was good to see Alonso getting out of there by his own feet, but makes me think, with the halo in place, how long would it take to get Alonso out of there?

Panda, Yes, if would slow down the egress from the car... and I am not sure about the carbon fiber blade in front of the face, but we shall see.

I would prefer a canopy, but perhaps it comes down to anti-fog and visibility in the rain???

Using a canopy or the halo could help and improve in some situations, but seems to me it would make others more difficult and complicated, for example, I don’t think Kimi would have been so calm getting out of the car with the fire just in the back his neck... is Kimi nevertheless.
