I watched Mick Schumacher race last weekend... won 2 out of 3 races in in the German Formula 4 (lots of rain, crashes, safety cars etc). I wonder if we're gonna see him in F1 one day. But he's got a long ways to go... maybe in 3 years or something like that.

Token update:

Ferrari is set to introduce a Formula 1 power unit upgrade for this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix as it continues its bid to close the gap to rival Mercedes.

Both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen will receive the update, which is believed to focus on the turbo and requires a spend of two development tokens.

That would take Ferrari's total token spend to 28 and leave it with four remaining for this season.
Ferrari was the biggest spender of tokens before the start of the season with 23 and spent three more before the Russian GP.

The Scuderia suffered its worst result of the season in Monaco, scoring just 12 points as Mercedes pulled 67 points clear in the constructors' championship.

Red Bull, meanwhile, closed the gap to Ferrari to just nine points and will have the updated Renault engine for both its cars in Canada.

Honda is the only manufacturer yet to have used any tokens during the season and has 14 remaining.

Mercedes has 11 while Renault, which used three for its latest upgrade, still has 21 - the most of any manufacturer.

Unfortunately I'm going to miss Friday but my wife will be there. Friday's tickets are on the start/finish straight across from the pits. Saturday's tickets are outside on turns 1&2. Sunday's are on the outside of the hairpin. Can't wait!

I think there's a lot of excitement around this race because the last two were sort of strange circuits/circumstances and both Ferrari and Red Bull will show their upgrades. Still expecting Mercedes to rule, but what if they don't?

Yes, I am a very lucky man Very Happy

Looks like there's some rain showers on Saturday and Sunday which could spice things up. Also unseasonably cool which could lead to troubles switching on soft tires. Would love to see anyone but Mercedes take this one.

...and there it is:

Arrivabene hints Raikkonen to stay

"We have the ideal pairing, with both of them pushing forward. What more do we want?" he told the Swiss newspaper Blick.

And as Zag said, Vettel has a lot to do with that, for sure.

My wife sent me this from the track this morning.  Great place to watch practice from.  Wish I was there.  At least I'll be there tomorrow and Sunday.

Nice!

Not sure if I'm using my weather app correctly here, but have the chances of slightly wet quali and race improved quite a bit?

Yeah they have. I have mixed feelings. It would be great to see the grid and race mixed up by weather. Not sure if I want to sit there in the pissing rain though.

Understandable, but it looks like some light rain, not pouring like crazy like it's been the last few weeks here in Germany!

Marc Surer has Ricciardo winning the race if it rains...

GREAT quali session! Ferrari and Red Bull are right there... on a track that is one of the Mercedes favorites!

WE HAVE A SEASON ON OUR HANDS, FOLKS!!! cheers

This is what I had been hoping for right from the start of the season, but I guess now is still fine! If the turbo delivers tomorrow, Vettel should put some real pressure on these folks, and then there's a chance of rain which would make Red Bull favorites... great setup for tomorrow!

Red Bull's engine upgrade seems to have roughly delivered what they promised... not sure if Ricciardo's lap was perfect, kinda missed it.

Last season, the closest Ferrari on this track was 6 tenths off the pace (now less than 2), and the closest Red Bull even 1.7 secs off the pace (now less than 4 tenths).

So good to see!

HAMMY!!!  cheers

Very controlled race... first win from pole this season... Montreal has a very low conversion rate from pole (only 35% since 2000), and almost all of those wins were by Lewis himself!

Ferrari are really hurting themselves letting Kimi drive yet another season... he's just not competitive enough if you want to compete for the WCC. Ferrari seems fine with that...
