race control trying to gift a win to verstappen by removing the virtual safety car after ham and ric have been halfway through it giving verstappen a free 10 seconds

Interesting.


I also thought that it was specious to give Rosberg a 10 second penalty instead of a 10 second stop and go.

Given the speed of Rosberg it was a non-penalty... and at the start if you
leave a gap others will dive into it, so both were Nico's mistakes to me...

Anyway, absolutely gutted for Lewis....

I agree, totally regarding the non-penalty.

When Rosberg moved to the left, Vettel would have taken it... however Verstappen was there.

Apex did not allow for that.

As far as the engine letting go... 'Strat-3' between Rosberg and Hamilton is like 'Multi-21' between Webber and Vettel.

Was Hamilton's engine running more boost?

If so, why was Nico allowed onto the same setting, when Hamilton's had just failed?

Maybe they thought that if Nico's engine goes also poof then Lewis has better chance at WDC?
