Formula One Group = FOG   scratch
...because.....
Today, following a stockholder meeting in Colorado, a statement was released that read: “The holders of its common stock entitled to vote thereat approved (i) a proposal relating to the issuance of shares of Series C Liberty Media common stock in connection with its pending acquisition of Formula 1 (the "Acquisition") and (ii) a proposal relating to the adoption of the amendment and restatement of Liberty Media's restated certificate of incorporation to effect the name change of the "Media Group" and the "Liberty Media Common Stock" to the "Formula One Group" and the "Liberty Formula One Common Stock," respectively.”   Shocked

Bernie...say it ain't so

As we continue to read about Liberty tightening their grip on F1, I wonder how open and transparent Chase Carey will be with his media remarks supporting small and large teams under his new business model. Bernie's Wizard of Oz approach behind curtains obviously no longer works.

4 possible options:

1. Things go South
2. Things go North
3. Things don't go anywhere
4. We won't be in Kansas anymore

North's Indy Speedway return without building a new track elsewhere has an immediate positive impact. The tyres are wider, cars beefier....but veteran audiences will notice the near silent engines inside the Brickyard. Is F1's 2005 travesty forgiven?

Forget the South. Circuit of the Americas are still upset about Mexico's race taking away spectators. No more pressure please.

East will be way too expensive.

Go West Young Man......like Las Vegas mrgreen

Like they need the extras $100m! The amount of money they get from Philip Morris and other sponsorships would be immense. I hope this leads to a re-shuffle of the prize money so that everyone in the field gets a cut, instead of just up to tenth.

Bernie Ecclestone could leave his position as Formula 1 chief executive as soon as this week, a source close to the 86-year-old says.

The move would end Ecclestone's remarkable 40-year reign in the sport.

US giant Liberty Media is on the brink of completing its takeover of F1, which values the sport at $8bn (£6.5bn).

Ecclestone said in September he had been asked to stay on for three years but Liberty wants a revamp and mounting belief is he could be eased aside.

Liberty has already employed Chase Carey, a former executive at Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox, as chairman of F1.

And senior F1 sources say American Sean Bratches, a former executive at television network ESPN, is poised to be appointed to run the commercial side of the sport, including sponsorship, marketing and media rights.

Ross Brawn, the former Mercedes team boss and Ferrari technical director, is expected to take up a role in charge of relations with the teams on the sporting and technical side.

BBC Sport has been told that some senior officials at Formula 1 Management, the company Ecclestone heads, think it unlikely he would accept an honorary role as life president if it was offered.

Senior sources expect that Ecclestone's departure will happen within a month, even if he does not go this week. He is currently on a skiing holiday.

Liberty refused to comment when contacted by the BBC.

I've been skiing for nearly 40 years....no disrespect....but....I'm having trouble imagining Bernie on a pair skis laying curvy tracks down the slopes

F1 Partially Owns Liberty bois2

Ferrari gives up F1 stake in exchange for Liberty Media stock.  I imagine more teams will follow suit.  If so, should be interesting to see how and/or if fewer F1 Competition Committee roadblocks get in the way of making F1 great again.
