So far the only noticeable positive change is the addition of Pat Symonds to Sky-F1 broadcast team. I think his technical and race strategy insights provides a much needed dimension missing from Brundle, Hill et-al.

You don't like Lewis, by now we get that Ray....   He was magnanimous in defeat, praised
both Seb and Ferrari, smiled and waved on the rostrum.
Did he want to win? Of course.
Was he bitter or upset? No, sorry, he wasn't in any way.

Unlike Mr. Wolff who theatrically thumped the desk when he knew the cameras were on him...

I was reacting to the radio commentary and points they raised but then dropped.

Wow....close race decided by whether Lewis came in too soon for new tyres.  It was strange to see Toto slam his console.....maybe Toto made the call for Lewis to come in and not Lewis after all.  But then again, Lewis was moaning more often than normal during the first stint....to the point where he's questioning about the floor boards integrity? Sounds like a "coded" messages to me.

Lets forget this 'Lewis came in too soon for tire change' -crap! He had to come when he did, so either his car's balance was eating tires too much, or his driving style, or both. There were lots speculations on the effect of driving styles with new rules. Also remember that Lewis did not loose chance at win because of tire change as such, but he was slightly too slow before it and got stuck behind Maxie Boy, who just isn't easy to pass. I'd say the result was a sum of many factors, and I think we have great season ahead with at least 4 drivers capable of race wins!

China and Bahrain should answer some of questions about tyre management

Very true, plus first race is often a mess with setups, like Kimi's for example.

I thought Bottas was the driver of the day. New guy on new team delivered P3 in a race where it looked like he could have challenged Lewis for P2. But chose to back off and held his position within 2 seconds. Sky-F1 et-al indicated the Mercedes has trouble following other cars in dirty air. Will it really matter on longer tracks?

This race wasn't snoozefest, though not most exciting either. Lets hope these cars give good races for us! And although Bottas was clearly faster than Lewis with Soft tires (unlike with Ultra Softs which didn't work for him at all) I do not believe he could have passed Lewis without a mistake from Hamilton. But yes, I was also impressed by Valtteri's speed. BTW, did Bottas or Kimi make the fastest lap of race? I do know hey both ripped the rounds at end. Very Happy

Kimi said after the race that his team knows what they did wrong with car Saturday, thus being unable to fix it again before race, and that they will get it right in China. I sure hope he is right.

Oh, and like Kimi said himself, he also had bad qualifying of his own fault. So car setup plus Kimi's bad qualifying combined = 4th in start --> 4th at checkered flag!

China will be interesting I hope. Although you are probably right about Lewis and China. Smile
