2017 Bahrain Grand Prix

Post by Mach on Sat Apr 15, 2017 6:50 pm

Another Mercedes pole 1-2 for tomorrow's race
Good on P1 Bottas with all due respect, but, does it really matter who drives the Mercedes W08?
Maybe not.

Hopefully Ferrari race pace is good and that Vettel can get a good start.

Seb P3 will need to follow Bottas P1 very closely with a poor Hamilton P2 start

Ridiculous penalty and only Hamilton would be penalised for that.... At the last race
Seb was so far out of his grid slot he could have been in the next street, nothing...

Oh well, good to see him charging hard....

Too bad TV duration coverage didn't continue showing Palmer, Alonso, Kvyat fight over longer stretches of time

I think Hamilton's strategy to purposely impede Ricciardo was with the 5 second penalty....otherwise Hamilton could have lost a position whilst being stacked in the pits

Agree, Hamilton totally deserved the penalty. Even the brit biased Sky TV hosts said he deserved it.

He did lose a position in the pits due to Bottas's over long stop and Lewis's extra long stop.
I seem to remember someone overtaking on pit road last year so Ric could have done
that... we were told at the time that it is after all a part of the track...

I don't believe Sky TV is Brit biased in any way, unless you 'choose' to see it like that..
Brundle in particular finds it very difficult to say anything good about LH.

Incidentally the other British broadcaster, Channel 4, didn't see a problem with LH...
Coulthard was commentating and I believe him to be fair and unbiased.

Hamilton wouldn't have known about VB pit issues prior to strategizing the impediment on DR starting from turn 14/15 to risk losing said position. I still believe LH did the right thing to impede DR. Didn't matter anyways considering DRs RB13 couldn't "light up" the Pirelli Softs

Stroll calculated bad the situation, as he was breaking down speed while Sainz was accelerating from pit exit. Sainz did not blocked brakes, so he was in his correct inside line for the 1st turn, and Stroll should have let him some space.
Bad decision from the stewards and very hard penalty (3 pos. in next grid) considering both had lost yet any result in this race. Race incident caused mainly by Stroll with no penalty in my opinion.

Sky largely broadcasts and gets it subscriptions from the Brits, why wouldn't it feature a Brit especially
someone such as Lewis?  Believe me it can be as bad as it is good!  The British have a trait of building
someone up and then delighting in knocking them back down!

All countries media gives greater coverage to home grown talent.

I agree...Sky should promote Hamilton. Not just cuz he's British. He's an awesome driver too.

I don't mind them talking about Hamilton. I just wish they'd stop blathering on about Palmer. What's he done to deserve so much air time?

Exactly, that's his fail... Razz ...but could have calculated better and give space...

Similar situation in Singapore 2015 with Massa coming from pits in the inside and Hulkenberg not giving space and crashing... Hulkenberg was then the one penalized by the stewards. Different criteria for the similar situation... Question

Have you got the Singapore 2015 URL race hour/minute section of the Hulkenberg /Massa incident for us to view, judge and discuss?

Otherwise you're peddling "Fake News" mrgreen
