Me too, there's no way Stroll could have seen him coming.

Exactly, that's his fail... Razz ...but could have calculated better and give space...

Similar situation in Singapore 2015 with Massa coming from pits in the inside and Hulkenberg not giving space and crashing... Hulkenberg was then the one penalized by the stewards. Different criteria for the similar situation... Question
Have you got the Singapore 2015 URL race hour/minute section of the Hulkenberg /Massa incident for us to view, judge and discuss?

Otherwise you're peddling "Fake News"  mrgreen

No, but can check inet for that... I can show you how to do it (just in case...) Laughing
Sounds like you want me to participate in spreading your Fake News....

Absolutely no fake news. You are just growing the ball... Wink

Hulkenberg will take a three-place grid demotion this weekend at Suzuka as a punishment for colliding with Massa when the Williams was emerging from the pitlane at Marina Bay.
The Force India came off worst in the incident, going straight into the wall, while Massa continued before later encountering gearbox problems.
"He sent me an SMS to apologise, so it was nice," Massa told reporters at Suzuka on Thursday.
"Maybe he was too optimistic to close the door like that, but anyway it's OK and it's nice to have the message.
"He had a big chance to stay in front, because he could brake much later because his tyres were in a much better shape.
"If he stayed to the line on the right, then at the next corner it would've been in his favour.
"He just closed the door too early and didn't give any space for me."
Hulkenberg said he had watched the incident again and understood he could have left more space.
"I probably should have given him a bit more room, because he was on the inside and I had some space on the right," he said.
"Visibility is also difficult when you are alongside each other and I thought I was ahead enough, but I wasn't clearly, in hindsight, so we take the penalty here."

Wow...very similar. In all my years watching F1, Neither Senna, Nigel, Schumi or Hamilton would have given room.....so why should Massa in this example or Stroll a couple weeks ago?

I think it has as much to do with the governing body who have reduced our sport to
'undercuts' and overcuts and who can do the quickest pit stop...  Staying ahead was
everything to the Hulk, and getting ahead was everything to Massa... racing incident,
no penalties!

Bottom line is, each driver, regardless of who owns the racing line in that split second they come together, thinks it's the other guys fault....and....are totally surprised and sometimes offended by what happened.  Yeah, then it goes to the stewards to decide.

Senna, Nigel, Schumi, Vettel, Hamilton are the drivers I side with, and why, cuz they earned their strips and are who I want to see win.

I don't care about nor expect the score cards and rules being applied consistently.

Until the likes of Hulkenberg, Sainz and Kvyat propel themselves into greatness like Max did over Kimi and Ricciardo last season.....then I think they're in the way.  It's like in heavyweight boxing, the challenger MUST knock out the reigning Champion.  Very rarely does the challenger take the Championship belt when they go to the scorecards to decide the winner.

I agree with what you say....  I don't believe any driver crashes on purpose (unless you are Rosberg or Piquet) they just want
to be ahead..   and like you I don't really care whether the Hulk or Massa was to blame, they don't mean enough to me, which
is why I say 'racing incident', move on and show us those who matter....

The problem with boxing is you sometimes have to knock the guy out to get a draw.......

Too bad David Coulthard's pit crew got in the way of Michael Schumacher after very wet Belgium GP crash way back when in yester-year. MS would have knocked out DC

Nah, I'd have put my money on the lantern jawed Scot....   Schummi was just trying to look hard knowing someone would stop him...

James Hunt was the knockout king...

You're both wrong. DC wanted the accident to happen. It gave him an excuse to get out of scary rain to clean out the crap in his underwear
