Return To Montlhery: Les Grandes Heures Automobiles 2017

Although the Goodwood Revival ended two weeks ago, automotive enthusiasts flocked the banked Linas-Montlhery Autodrome circuit, France for the third rendering of the Les Grandes Heures Automobiles (LGHA for short). If this name sounds familiar to you, then that’s because it is the very venue that was covered at the start of the 2017 European motoring season with the COUPE DE PRINTEMPS. Though it isn’t technically a racing event like the Goodwood Revival, if you want to see unique cars and get properly entertained by some old (and new) automotive machinery, the LGHA isn’t a bad place to find yourself at.

The main ‘entertainer’ this year turned out to be countryman Sebastien Loeb and his Pikes Peak-winning Peugeot 208 T16. The most successful rally driver of all time wowed the crowd with amazing antics, before handing the car over to Bruno Saby, who didn’t fail to impress either. Peugeot brought their entire arsenal at the event, including an ex-Works 307 WRC, a 306 F2 and several 308 Cup cars. The cars kept running even when the sunset. The darkness of the night only made the backfires that much more impressive.
