Verstappen & Sportsmanship.

Message par 00521 le Jeu Nov 15, 2018 12:52 am

The Brazil post-race 'wanna fight' shoving of Ocon by Verstappen should be condemned by Liberty Media & the FIA.

Additionally, his every other race 'bang em up' actions on the track have not been much better these past few years.

Not only is Verstappen's proving to be just another immature, spoiled brat, 'driving legend in his own mind', this kind of NASCAR like stupidity REALLY does not belong in F-1, and if he is not condemned now early in his career, he will NEVER learn.

I am sure some besides myself remember when in 1995, 2X WDC Mika Hakkinen's McLaren crashed in Adelaide and only an on the spot emergency tracheotomy saved his life. (That was before he arrived at Royal Adelaide Hospital) with serious head injuries

Frankly, no one on the F-1 grid or trackside needs to be accidentally hurt, killed or otherwise personally affected by anyone's negative kind of driving attitude at 220 MPH.

As many have said, a psychologist just might not be a bad idea for Verstappen, if he cannot soon transform his obvious personal rage and insecurity. Otherwise, super-licenses have been temporarily pulled in the distant past, just so that the individual gets the seriousness of the point.

Just two weeks ago, a very knowledgeable, veteran, trackside worker was killed here in the States, and as an old guy, I always think back to Le Mans 1955, Hawthorn, Macklin, Pierre LeVeigh, and the 83 dead and 200+ injured.

Let's not see that happen in F-1.

Regards,

I don't believe it is possible for people to 'change'.
Nothing would have changed Schumachers cheating mind set, Vettels petulance or Verstappens driving style...
when the chips are down, people will always revert to type.

Perhaps a minor change can take place with experience/age but it will be
because 'they' have learnt a better way of winning rather than because of
any penalties dealt out to them.

While I don't condone Verstappens actions in the pit lane I think he did
himself more harm than good... appearing like a real tough guy on the
radio and ending up with a handbags at dawn confrontation.  It reminded
me very much of Schummi storming down the pits to confront DC while
secretly thinking someone please hold me back because I am out of my depth here!

Kimi will prove all the naysayers wrong.

Now, if Kimi only had half the support Vettel had...
