From all the negatives we've witnessed, i think the best strategy for me will be:

Default bet $10,000 on Michael Schumacher to get Points Finish

Assuming he's always paying around $1.25, he only has to stay in front of 60% of the drivers in 80% of the races, i'll be in green, how hard can it be?

Actually on second thought, can i bet the opposite, ie MS not scoring points?

Firstly, no, you can't bet the opposite. You have to bet one of the available odds that are posted for each race. Maybe a Schumacher DNF will be an available odds, we will see, race by race.

Second, no your strategy will not win you this competition. Every race, at best, you will gain one quarter. So your total after the race will $12,500. If he misses out on points, you will lose -10000. To break even, you would need Michael to finish in the points 4 times out of 5 races.

This is a reasonable strategy for real life betting, particularly if you are betting with large sums of money. But in this game, you are competing against others. The winners will be the people that bet on an outsider at high odds to collect a rare podium finish or race victory. I think someone made over 100,000 in one race last season.

PS: I think the rule is a maximum of three bets each race. So you can split up your 10,000 to offset risk, etc. I am a very conservative better, I just try and be green by the end of the season. Leave the glory to Aussieracer and Monstar.

Yes, the guys who win take bets that are of medium likeliness (eg a Massa pole) but which has an odds of about 7.00 odd. If Massa got pole only every 4 races they will be in the money. But Ive never had the steel balls to succeed at it (Im a bit like Webhead).
