Battlefield Bad Company 2

Bloody good! Anyone tried it yet? Lots of improvements over BF2. Shame I am utterly crap at it at the moment!

Sorry, too many games at the moment. And I can't even play them, got so much work to do. When I finally get around to it, I just want to sleep. But yeh, I loved the old Battlefield games, they were excellent for big LAN games, and one of the rare experiences that could compete with Counter Strike.

This is a big step up from the old Counter Strike and previous Battlefield games. The biggest change is you can affect your surroundings. Shoot down walls, run over trees, smash crates etc. It's very impressive.

You could that in Bad Company 1 though, right? Have they improved that aspect too have they?

Lol I will be an easy kill until I work it out!!

I assume is works like other FPS online where you either be a boing camper/sniper....or you get nailed by camper/snipers whenever you try to go anywhere!!

Yes there is an element of that but the individual unlock progression does encourage players to be one of the other specialisations. So you can't unlock many goodies if you just sit and snipe.

On top of that if there is a sneaky sniper hiding behind a wall, a well aimed grenade will blow his cover away.

It's much more intuitively collaborative than the previous games. You find yourself wanting to be in a team or wanting to be near a tank which can blow away walls of houses etc.

The one thing I do miss is the sprawling maps like Kubra Dam and Dragon Valley in BF2. Apart from that, it's a monster of a game!

Depends on the vehicle and depends on the map. Some are pretty much infantry only. Tanks allow a driver plus a machine gunner, Humvees have transport capability and a machine gunner, choppers have a pilot who has missiles and a co-pilot with a cannon.

A sniper has no chance against a chopper with a good pilot and gunner.

I'm loving this game. It is better than Modern Warfare 2 in everyway. I can't think of a single thing that Modern Warfare isn't beat at. Loving the destructability of almost eveything, the graphics, and the controls feel spot on.

You have to get this game MONSTAR. Money well spent.

The more I play the more I think this could actually be the FPS winner of this generation. Almost has the looks of Crysis but a million times more fun. Dare I say I'm enjoying it more than Killzone 2. We do need a squad I think.

If you want someone who starts with the fighting ability of Radar O'Reilly (MASH Very Happy ). Then Im in.

Im a slow learner at FPS.

By the way, do you guys think an expensive gaming mouse makes a difference?

I really doubt it makes a difference. Just get a good quality, comfy mouse that's either rechargeable or wired. And a good mouse mat. I think "gaming" mice are just marketing to get a higher price.

Anyway, stop thinking about mice and start thinking about getting a PS3 controller. They are much much better for gaming. Oh and a PS3 Razz

I hope the big step next generation will be PS4, PC, and xbox 720 cross-compatible for online play.

Maybe wishful thinking...

A laser mouse is a must with these kinds of games. Anything with a sniper sight needs it. Having said that, I replaced my old Microsoft laser with a little laptop logitech laser (all they had in the shop) and it's too damn small. I keep pressing both buttons by mistake.
