It sucks.

Gameplay: Dumbed down extremely
Strategy: Requires less IQ
Aesthetics: Hideous
Graphics: Units look like they are made of Lego

Thats based on a very dissapointing 30 minutes of play time......I didnt want any more of it.

The original is so strong and varied (its only fault is the lag during the mid to climax of the game), this seems so DUMB!!!

Glad I didnt do anything dumb like buy it yet.

Any fans of the original here?

When I saw the video review of the sequel, I was very surprised by what I saw...

Experimentals are easier to get than high level conventional units now. No achievement in that.

Cant have two or more engineers on a build

Cant stack builds into the future past how much mass you have. So the economy is way dumbed down.

The new game is for 8 year olds.

Strange, because it was well received (apparently) by die hards of the original and its spiritual predecessor / all time classic (a game called Total Annihilation, which I have lying around here somewhere).

Me, I like fancy graphics, so it's a letdown for me.

Damn, that's disappointing. I was looking forward to this game. The originals are superb LAN games.

Are you sure your graphics settings just aren't set too low? Does it look worse or the same as the original game?

I saw the video review, I'm pretty sure the developers purposely designed it to look worse than the original, so that they can scale performance of the whole battle from any level of zoom. It looked pretty yuck in the video review.

My PC was on good graphics settings. Meanwhile I started playing the original on lower settings and resolution to help with the lag and it still looks great!!!
